Getting Year Of The Pig into publication was easier than Alleycat, but still not my forte. The writing itself was a good experience, much better than the first book, and a lot more fun to work on. I decided to do a sequel because so many readers asked for it and now, a third book in the series is percolating in my brain. Working title is Back To The Woods. If you look at the covers for the first two books, you'll see why.
My biggest challenge was getting the manuscript formatted for CreateSpace (Amazon) and designing the cover. I was introduced to a wonderful graphic artist, Maggie Dukes, who immediately had a vision based on the first book and within three or four days had submitted something like five different designs for me to look at. Maggie is a wizard when it comes to design work!
Next issue--formatting. I struck gold with Maggie again. She loves doing that kind of detail work and was eager to learn the intricacies of online publishing. Take a look at the section of this web page titled Books and you can see her work.
Now that Year of the Pig is up and running and out to the public (get your copy on Amazon or from me), I have gone back to the novel I originally started after Alleycat. Can you imagine how I work with some ADD issues? Back and forth is my norm :)
The new novel is titled Four Play. Watch for updates in the Books section.
